The Ngorngoro was once a giant active volcano, some think it was as big as Kilamanjaro. The eruption it produced was so big the volcano collapsed to make the Ngorngoro Crater.
It’s now a remarkable sanctuary for a wide variety of wildlife making it one of Africa’s best safari destinations. Wildlife roams the open grasslands spot wildebeest, gazelle, buffalo, antelope. Make sure to visit the flamingos that gather on the Lake Magadi.
