Zambia provides traditional safari holidays as well as some top-class walking safaris. All of Zambia’s parks allow night drives which means you can see some of the more elusive creatures that inhabit the parks such as porcupines and leopards. The best time to visit Zambia is between June and October when the land starts to dry out from the rains and animals congregate around the remaining water sources. The rainy season can be a great time to visit for keen birders and photographers.

The South Luangwa National Park is a great option for a big game safari and also offers some excellent walking safaris. Fishing trips can be organised by many of the lodges within the park which gives you the chance to catch your very own tiger fish or bream. This park also offers canoeing safaris where it’s not uncommon to see herds of elephant’s island hopping across the river channels.

The Kafue National Park is great for viewing species such as cheetah which are rare in the other parks of Zambia. The Kafue’s Busanga Plains are also a must see when visiting. The Lower Zambezi National Park also offers big game safaris along the Zambezi River with the stunning mountains as a backdrop. The park offers day and night drives as well as boat trips, canoeing, great fishing and excellent walking safaris.
